Jurong Bird Park


Be free as a bird in the largest birds’ park in the world, Jurong Bird Park. This is a world-famous bird zoo where there are specimens of magnificent bird live from around the world. It is currently the world's largest bird park in terms of the number of birds, and the second largest both in number of bird species and land area. This tourist attraction is located in Jurong Hill and managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore. It is a landscape park which has an area of 20.2-hectare hillside haven for 5,000 birds which representing 380 species from Africa to the rainforests of South America, Asia and all over the world. It is bird conservation and exhibiting birds in naturalistic settings. This place becomes a home for birds from all species and paradise for those who interested in wildlife to increase desirability of the avian world through interactive bird-feeding and bird shows.



This bird conservation also becomes a golden tourism place in Singapore. By providing the atmosphere of fresh and green forest, visitors can get pleasure from the surroundings. Inside this birds park, there are amazing places cannot be missed. Hiking into the largest walk-in aviary and the tallest man-made waterfall in the world, African Waterfall Aviary, then enjoying close interaction with birds during daily feeding sessions; it is chance to see the elusive crested guinea fowl and the iridescent starling, turaco and roller. Continue the trip to another world’s largest and biggest lory flight aviary, the 9-storey high Lorey Loft. Visitors will meet Australian birds, then walk across the suspended bridges with a cup of nectar mix, and enjoy the time with bright and chirpy lory and lorikeets flock around the guests and some even nestling on the shoulders. The trip is not over yet, visitors can get inside to Jungle Jewels, the South American rainforest, and the striking toucans are ready to meet and greet the people. Enter the Antarctic world and see the penguins dive and torpedo at Penguin Coast. Not only will from the Antarctic side, but also from the tropical area, African penguins greet the visitors, and then the visitors get a chance to feed them during at the Penguin Encounter sessions. People even can get the knowledge on how to take care of eggs and chicks in The Breeding and Research Centre (BRC). For another glimpse into the Park’s success in breeding and conservation, they visit the Hornbill & Toucan Aviary.

Especially for children, this park becomes a main core to learn in a fun way. It provides variety of educational programs, such as comprise of day trips, overnights camps, workshop and wildlife publication, for young guests to learn more about the avian world, from the life stages of a bird to exploring how birds command mastery of the sky. Birdz of Play is the right place for children to have fun and get wild with wet and dry play zones. Shallow pool, zoom down water slides, and squirt sprays are the wet zones. For dry zones, flying fox, tiny tots, swings, slides, arcade games, and claw crane machines are served for kids of all ages. Jurong Bird Park also gives entertainment shows to all visitors. Bird n Buddies Show, Songbird Terrace, Lunch with Parrots, and Kings of the skies are the special shows for the visitors. Scooters, strollers, and wagons are provided for people to explore and enjoy the park.

Jurong Bird Park opens daily from 8.30am to 6.00pm. By paying the entrance ticket S$18.00 for adult and S$12.00 for child between 3 – 12 years old, customers get full excitement of wildlife. It is about 30-minute drive away from the city and it provides open-air car and motorcycle parking lots which located near the entrance of the park. For those who use MRT, the nearest MRT station (Boon Lay EW27) to Jurong Bird Park is on the East-West (Green) line. Catch connecting public buses (bus no 194 or 251) that will take you right to the Bird Park. This place is a right place for families to have fun and spend time together all day with birds.
